Believing in Ourselves: A Celebration of Appalachian Women

I would like to thank the Harlan County Domestic Violence Council and The Family Life Abuse Center for putting on Believing in Ourselves: A Celebration of Appalachian Women, a fun-filled, educational self-esteem summit. The day featured guest speakers, lunch, door prizes, makeovers, and portraits.

I would like to congratulate Eula Brock, who was chosen from the twelve nominees, as the Outstanding Appalachian Woman of 2008.

I was invited to participate in the workshop by offering a free professional portrait session for each lady in attendance. It was amazing to hear how many women hadn't had a professional portrait in decades or ever! I guess the cliche' is true that there's a first time for everything! I was very honored to provide each woman a professional portrait that showed how beautiful they are, inside and out.

Here were my models for the day... :)
